Katherine Hankiewicz

Katherine Hankiewicz 89, of Two Harbors, died Friday June 5, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
She was born January 25, 1926 to Stanislaw and Franciszka (Ankutowicz) Pater in Jasieniow, Poland. Katherine grew up and attended schools in Poland until World War II began. She married Tadeusz (Ted) Hankiewicz, June 4, 1951 in Breman-Grohaw, Germany. They moved to the United States in 1951, and made their home in Two Harbors, where they raised their family.
Katherine loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed fishing with Ted.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted, and sons, John and Joseph.
Katherine is survived by her children, Stan (Barb) Hankiewicz, Ted Hankiewicz, and Mary (Lance Randall), many grandchildren including her oldest granddaughter Faye, who spent so much time with her; many great-grandchildren, and close friend Liz Scheidt.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial,Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
