Katie Roiland, 16, of Two Harbors, was delivered to her Lord, May 4th , 2012.
Katie was born June 23rd, 1995 to loving parents Jeff and Jane (Krump) Roiland in St. Cloud. She grew up in Annandale and Willmar before moving to Two Harbors last summer. She was a sophomore at Two Harbors High School where she was an outstanding student who participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, band, choir, student council, National Honor Society and recently was chosen for next year's cheerleading squad.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Often times this meant gathering at the lake, which included water skiing, tubing, and boat rides, and also the peaceful times reading and listening to music. She sang in the choir with praises to her Lord. Katie was a friend to all she met. She had a huge heart and was extremely positive in her life and everyone else's. Katie sought out people who were in need of a friend. She will always be remembered for her loving smile. She could light up a room with her soft, kind, easy flowing spirit.
Katie adored her brothers and sister. Her little "Big" brother Alex who she was always there for, as his "Backseat Driver" telling him what to do. They had so many special times together. Jacob and Katie spent hours working together with Lego building projects. She loved to play games and babysit her younger sister, Ally.
Katie was a perfectionist who organized everything. She absolutely loved school, hanging out with friends. She had a unique way of viewing life. She was able to see the beauty in many things easily overlooked and taken for granted.
She was preceded in death by her stillborn baby brother Joseph, and her grandfather Donald Roiland. She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Jane Roiland, brothers Alexander and Jacob, and sister Allyson; her grandparents, Bill and Lois Krump of Morris and Marjorie Roiland of Chokio; aunts and uncles Greg and Karen Roiland, Bruce and Christine Roiland, Jeff and Teresa Scheldorf, Ginny and Scott Kurtzweg, Jeff and Kathi Grugel, Karin and Terry Johnson, and Judy and Britt Beaton and many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 10th, 2012 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 11th, 2012 at Two Harbors High School Auditorium. There will be a memorial to be determined.
