Judith Nikula

Judy Lynn Nikula, 74, Finland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2013. She was born January 30, 1938 to Earl K Sr. and Vera Wahl in Rockwood, Pennsylvania.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Niklula Sr.; and an infant son, John.
Judy is survived by her children, Richard Jr., Michael (Amy), Jeffrey (Tamara) and Wendy (Jon) Goette all of Finland, and Cynthia (Michael) Deitz of Somerset, PA; grandchildren, Earl Nikula, Melanie (Matthew King), Satrina and Melissa Nikula, Samantha and Cody Goette, Jessica (Jason) Greer, Jeb Deitz, Holly Deitz, Kyle (Stephanie) Deitz; great-grandchildren, Sean and Rylee King, Xander Greer, Stowne and Elyse Deitz; brothers and sisters, Earl K. Jr. (Betty) Wahl, Sharon (Ralph) Pletcher, Melanie (Francis) Deitz, and Jon (Laurie) Wahl.
Judy and her husband owned and operated the Apollo Inn in Finland from 1974 until 1998. Judy was also Postmaster for the United States Postal Service at the Finland Post Office.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a coordinator for the John Beargrease Sled Dog Race. Judy was an avid football, hockey and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's extra-curricular activities.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Crystal Bay Cemetery.
