Joshua Johnson

Joshua W. Johnson, 33, formerly of Grand Portage, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, an unfortunate and untimely death near his home in Dilworth.

Joshua was born to Claude Johnson Jr. and Tammy (Cook) on October 28, 1987 in Augusta, Georgia. He moved to Grand Portage as an infant and attended Cook County Schools graduating in 2007.

Joshua was a fun-loving father who cared well for his children and was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed music, fishing and had a passion for cars. Josh was also great at drawing.

Josh was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sandra Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Mercedes Johnson and her mother Vanessa Jacobson, Kelsie, Maci and Hanna Johnson and Brody and Brayden Fuder-Johnson and their mother, Kristi Fuder; his mother, Tammy Johnson (Jim Stephens) of Grand Portage, his father, Claude Johnson Jr. of Duluth; sister and fiancé,  Holly Johnson (Josh Jezek); brother and nephew, Kenneth Johnson (Ryan);  grandparents, Mary Huff, William Huff, and Claude James Johnson Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joshua’s funeral service is at 1pm on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Grand Portage Community Center followed by his graveside service at the Sunset cemetery and a closing ceremony back at the center.
