John Hankiewicz

John Hankiewicz, 64, of Goldendale, Washington died Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Goldendale, after a brief illness.

John was born August 21, 1949 in Ostendorf, Germany to Tadeucz (Ted) and Katherin (Pater) Hankiewicz. In 1951 John and his parents immigrated to the United States and settled in Two Harbors, MN. He attended school in Two Harbors and played varsity football until his graduation from Two Harbors High School in 1967. Following graduation John attended college in both Minnesota and California. Later, he became a pipefitter for the construction trades working his way to the position of manager until an injury sidelined him. John loved the outdoors, enjoying trips to the Boundary Waters as well as boating and fishing on Alpine Lake and hunting on occasion.

John is preceded in death by his father, a brother Joseph, and grandniece Abigail.

John is survived by his mother Katherin; son David; brothers, Stan and Ted of Two Harbors; sister Mary of Duluth, MN; nieces and nephews Faye, Josh, Tammy, Jeremy, Amber, Jason, Nicole, Thaddeus, Joette, Nathaniel, Connie and Donna Jean; as well as his significant other of many years Vera (Elaine) Clark.

Graveside services will be held at 1pm Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
