Jodi Jill Donahue, 43, of Two Harbors died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Lake View Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 14, 1970 to Samuel and Betty (Mistelske) Smestad in Coon Rapids. She grew up and attended schools in Spring Lake Park. After graduating from Vermilion Community College in Ely, she was employed by Anoka County Sheriff's Department and later St. Louis County Sheriff's Department. She had made her home in Two Harbors since 2002. Jodi enjoyed her hobby farm, hunting, fishing, camping, and time spent with her family. With her daughters she was involved in 4-H and Girl Scouts, and as a teen was active in Junior Careers.
She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Smestad in 2007.
Jodi is survived by her husband, Glenn; daughters, Katie and Ella; her mother Betty Brenny; brothers, Aron (Betty) Smestad and Tony (Tracy) Smestad; a sister, Tracy (Dan) Taylor; her grandmother, Jeanne Smestad; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until the 1 PM service on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 602 4th Ave, Two Harbors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
