Joanne I Button

Joanne Button, 78, of Two Harbors died Sunday, February 16, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

She was born December 31, 1946 to Joseph and Elizabeth Irene (Hansen) Zapolski in Two Harbors, where she grew up and attended school. After graduating in 1964, she attended beauty school and worked as a hairdresser for several years. Later she decided to stay at home as a homemaker while her children were growing up, and also operated the Evergreen Craft Shop.

Joanne was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she taught catechism classes for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, but more than all else, time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, David; and brothers, Donald and Robert.

She is survived by her husband, Louis; children, Debbie (Jim) Campbell, Kristine (Joe) Underdale, and Scott (Leigh Ann) Button; grandchildren, Jessica (Jesse) Wartman, Michaela (Andy) Graham, Nathan, Kaitlyn, and Casey; great-grandchildren, Carley, Lexi, and Taylor; a sister, Mary Mickle; a brother, Brian Zapolski; and many nieces and nephews.

Joanne’s family would like to thank the staff of Aspirus-St. Luke’s Hospital for the loving care they provided in the past month.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Two Harbors.
