Jeffrey Mccabe

Jeffrey Lynn McCabe passed away of natural causes at his home on the 21st of November, 2022.  He was born and raised in Dilworth, Minnesota where he was valedictorian of his High School class.  Upon graduation he worked for the Minnesota DNR out of the Grand Marais office.  Disabled out of the fisheries, he became a rural route postal carrier out of Two Harbors and was on that job until a few years ago.   He was an avid fisherman and hunter and often brought fish fillets to people on his mail route as well as to neighbors closer to home.  He never married and was predeceased by his parents, John and Gwen of Dilworth, Mn., and is survived by his only sibling, Timothy McCabe residing in Albany, NY.  Jeff was a long-time resident of Cook County.  He suffered with psoriatic arthritis and was only able to sleep for an hour at a time for the last 20 years. Despite the arthritis he put on a good front and was a kind soul.  He was 75 years old at the time of his death. The people that knew him well enjoyed his quick wit and sense of humor.
