Jeffery Grosskurth

Jeffery Grosskurth, 68, Two Harbors, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 26, 2021.

Jeff was born November 11, 1953 to Donald and Yvonne Grosskurth in Duluth, and was a lifelong resident of Two Harbors. After graduating from high school in 1972, Jeff worked for Husky Hydraulics, Reserve Mining, LaBounty Manufacturing and Abrasive Specialists Inc.

After retiring from Abrasive Specialists, Jeff enjoyed countless hours searching the beach for agates and other treasures. He took great pride in polishing and displaying those treasures. Jeff was an avid sports fan. He proudly supported the Agate cheer, football, baseball and hockey teams. He coached youth hockey in Two Harbors and enjoyed watching all Minnesota sports teams. Jeff loved the outdoors. In the fall, he could be found hunting deer and grouse at The Shack and turkey out east in Pennsylvania. He spent thousands of hours fishing both inland lakes and Lake Superior. He proudly caught many big fish in the waters surrounding Isle Royale-where his family were commercial fishermen.  Most of all, he enjoyed traveling the world with Kristy and friends.

He truly loved spending time with family and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Deb Harvey; and a brother, Michael “Bonsie” Grosskurth.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kristy; his children, Dereck (Sarah) Grosskurth and Rachel Grosskurth; grandaughters Justyna and Grace; sisters, Linda Halvorson and Lisa (Tim) Lujan; and many nieces and nephews.
