Jeanne Kurtz

Jeanne Gage Kurtz, 57, of Grand Rapids, died on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Essentia Health St.
Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born on October 23, 1956 to John "Jack" and June (Dahlgren) Gage in Two Harbors, where she grew up. After her marriage to Brian Smith, Jeanne graduated from high school in Tacoma, Washington. During Brian's time in the Army, they lived in Panama, Alaska, and Washington, before returning to Minnesota. She lived in Minneapolis, where she worked as a waitress, and moved to Grand Rapids in 1995. Jeanne loved socializing, picking wildflowers, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Herbert "Crunch" Olson; brother-in-law, Mike Suomi; and niece, Jenna Suomi.
She is survived by her siblings, John (Debbie) Gage, Julie (Steve) Heard, Jill Suomi, and Joni (Todd) Thomas; aunts and uncles, Bill and Arverne Dahlgren and Cheryl and Butch Lee; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
