Janet Nelson

Janet Marie Nelson, 78, Tofte, died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Janet was born February 22, 1944 to Leon and Alice Dorothy (Wadsworth) Revier in the village of Pine City and grew up and attended schools in Sandstone. She and John Nelson married on August 4, 1962, and eventually made their home in Tofte.

Janet was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church. She enjoyed wintering with John in the Southwest U.S. and in her earlier days, jewelry making and craft fairs.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a daughter, Renee Nelson Cherney;  and brothers, Lloyd, Duane, and Don Revier, and infant brother Lyle.

She is survived by a son, Richard (Kathleen) Nelson; grandchildren, Caitlin Strand and Daniel (Stephanie) Nelson.

Janet’s family would like to thank the North Shore Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital ICU, especially Dr. Patel and nursing staff, for all their care and support through this difficult time.

Memorials are preferred to Zoar Lutheran Church.

Private graveside services will be held at Tofte Cemetery.
