Irv Angell, 86, of Grand Marais, died on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Homestead Hospice in Owatonna.
He was born on July 8, 1926 to Andrew and Blanche (Phinney) Angell in Minneapolis. Irv grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Central High School. During World War II, Irv served in the Navy as a radar operator aboard an aircraft carrier. He was employed at Irv's Bakery, Robert's Bakery, Deephaven Bakery, and Juba's Super Valu in Shakopee. Irv enjoyed golfing, the Minnesota Twins, camping, square dancing, nature, traveling, biking, and cruising.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a number of Bible study groups, and folk school classes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Jeanne.
Irv is survived by children Karen (Dennis) Trushenski, Kathie (Mike) Clark, Dave (Chris) Angell, Paul (Denise) Angell, and Eric Angell; grandchildren Tara (Marcus) Tuttle, Chad (Genny) Trushenski, Andrew (Tanya) Clark, Anna (Mike) Hauglie, Seth (Kim) Angell, Jessica (Gary) Allen, Kira (Dan) Carrigan, Sara Angell, and Mark Angell; great-grandchildren Abigail, Liam, Owen, Alayna, Landon, Benjamin, Mia, Macy, Jocelynn, Kyle, Karissa, Jillian, Cameron, and Jason; a brother, Gordy (Barb) Angell; and brother-in-law, Dick (Char) Erickson.
Services will be held 2 PM Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
