Imogene Reppe, 91, Two Harbors, died peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth with her family at her side.
She was born on April 10, 1926 to Arthur P. and Esther (Hove) Anderson in Colfax, Dunn County Wisconsin where she grew up. After graduating high school in Bloomer, Wisconsin, Imogene graduated from beauty school and owned and operated her own shop “Ideal Beauty Shop” in Stanley,WI. As a young woman, she had her own car, and taught her future husband to drive. She was married on May 18, 1952 to John Reppe and together they made their home in Two Harbors since 1953.
Imogene was a homemaker through the years and Pastor’s wife, serving the Lord by serving her community and supporting her husband in ministry. After the children were grown, Imogene was employed at the RJ Houle Information Center in Two Harbors.
Imogene enjoyed time with family and friends, playing piano, and baking. She was featured in Cooking Light for her mint chocolate bars.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and its women’s and Bible study groups.
Imogene is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph and Peter Anderson; and sister, Elaine Klund.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rev. John Reppe; children, Chris (Jerry) Hoganson, Becky (Wayne) Pedersen, Kyle (JoAnn) Reppe, Heidi (Al) Chmielewski, Lon (Chrissy) Reppe, and Tim Reppe; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
