Hazel R. Blaisdell, 93, Two Harbors, died Sunday April 14, 2013 in Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
She was born November 23, 1919 to Albert and Mary (Moisala) LaBounty in Two Harbors, where she was a life-long resident. She graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1937 and attended beauty school in Duluth. She worked as a beautician in Duluth until her marriage to Gerald "Ted" Blaisdell in 1943, and later worked in Two Harbors for several years. She was also a homemaker through the years.
She and Ted together enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling and camping throughout the United States, and traveling abroad to Norway, Finland and Sweden. Hazel was a member of the United Church in Two Harbors.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted; brothers, Harry, Clarence, and Roy LaBounty, and sisters,Violet Lammi, and Pearl Hjort.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally (Dick) LaFavor of Coon Rapids; grandsons, Darren (Eileen) LaFavor and Brian (Viviana) LaFavor; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Leah and Mariana LaFavor; one sister, Florence Hogenson; and several special nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM Friday, April 19, 2013 at Cavallin Funeral Home, and will continue from 10 AM until the 11 AM service Saturday April 20, 2013 at the United Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
