GARY D. RUBERG

Gary Ruberg, 67, Two Harbors, died peacefully on Wednesday July 21, 2010 in Lake View Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family after a six month battle with lung and brain cancer. He was born December 30, 1942 to William and Beatrice (Horsley) Ruberg in Two Harbors, where he lived his entire life. As a young man he served in the National Guard, and later owned and operated H & G Texaco for many years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, American Legion and Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Gary especially enjoyed time spent with his family, and his many fishing trips to Canada with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sara; brothers, Steve and Duane, brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson, father-in-law, Wendell Johnson.

Gary is survived by his wife of 36 years, Wendy, four children, Greg (Jennifer) Ruberg of Two Harbors daughter Stacy (Derek) Johnson of Otsego, Kurt Ruberg (Devon Cook) of Eden Prairie and Keith Ruberg (Katrina Wilberts) of Rosemount; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Jayden and Jace Ruberg and Morgan Johnson; sisters Delores (Dale) Tressler , Eileen (Bud) Wick and Karen (Connie Marker; brother , Alan (Beverly) Ruberg; mother-in-law, Yvonne Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, July 24, at 11 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors, with lunch following in the fellowship hall. Private burial will take place at a later date. To sign the online guest book, please go to www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
