Gary Aleff

Gary Aleff, 69, of Two Harbors died peacefully at his home on Friday, October 16, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on May 26, 1946 to Bernard and Margaret (Worden) Aleff in Milwaukee, WI. Shortly after high school he met Nancy Hulburt and they married in 1967. Gary served in the Marine Corps. Reserves from 1965 until 1971 while working at the family sod business in Blaine. After a short stint in the restaurant business in Florida, he found his passion in the stock markets. This was followed by a 33 year long career in the brokerage business. After working in 5 different cities, he chose to finish his career by the lake in Two Harbors.
Gary was an avid fisherman, hunter, and Green Bay Packers fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances; son, Gregory; and his mother-in-law Donna.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy; son, Steve; grandsons Brayden and Nolan; nieces and nephews Jim, Debbie, Kaj, Pauli, Marie, Lindsey, and Marisa; and father-in-law, James Hulburt.
The family would like to thank the staff of Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospice for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church Women’s Hospitality.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Two Harbors.
