Erma Sveine

September 1, 1929 — December 27, 2014

Erma Jean Sveine, 85, in the comfort of her family and loved ones, went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 27, 2014.

She was born September 1, 1929 to Henry and Erma (Cordes) Lauer in Hopkins, Minnesota.  Erma Jean grew up and graduated from school in New Ulm.  She married Burton “Buddy” Sveine in Charles City, Iowa in 1948.   Erma Jean worked as a secretary for Somson Attorney in New Ulm, then as a cashier in Babbitt.  After moving to Two Harbors in 1968 she was a homemaker and waitress at Denny’s restaurant.  She later helped run Buddy’s Wild Rice gift shop with her husband.

Erma Jean loved to spend time with her family and friends and enjoyed knitting, and crocheting.  She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Erma Jean is survived by her husband of 66 years, Burton “Buddy” of Two Harbors;  sons, Steven, of Two Harbors; Tom (Sally) of Two Harbors; and Doug (Sue) of Bemidji; daughters, Penny Stark  and Jenny (Roger) Walsberg, both of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Shane and Yancy Stark, Jessica Rustad, Julie Funkey, Michael Sveine, Ruby and Kate Walsberg; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Stephanie, Cooper, Wyatt, Jonathan, Julian, Jameson, and two special girls, Alicia and Abi; brother, Bob “Bobby” (Tonia) Lauer; a niece  Rayan and a nephew John.

Services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Two Harbors Community Center.
