Emily Anne Teeters, 70, died peacefully on Saturday morning, October 10, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife and mother, Emily was born January 6, 1950, to parents Hazel and Leonard Graden. She was raised in Two Harbors, graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1968, and attended Duluth Business University. From there, she met the love of her life, Jerry Teeters, and they married August 1971. They proceeded to have 2 children, son J.D. and daughter Anne.
During her life, Emily lived in Minneapolis, Wisconsin, California, and Florida, until finally returning to her hometown to care for her parents. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the continental United States, Hawaii and Canada.
In her professional life, Emily held a number of positions, including Executive Assistant to the President of Alaskan Transportation Corporation, who sold Piper Aircraft. Among her many duties, Emily chose color and interior designs for the airplanes, including the entire interior design of Wayne Newton’s private aircraft. She also worked as Executive Assistant to the President of Minnigas Co., and was Quality Control at Irresistible Ink, where she made many friends. She immensely enjoyed her work. However, Emily said the job she enjoyed the most was being a mother. She exceeded all expectations of being an amazing parent and guide to her children, who both adore her.
Emily cherished being a wife to the love of her life, Jerry. Together for over 51 years, they brought joy and love to each other. She completed him, and he her. The couple traveled life’s journey together, supporting and caring for one another. Emily and Jerry shared a mutual love, respect, and devotion for each other that could never be matched. They were truly soulmates.
Jerry always said and felt that she was the most beautiful person he has ever known, both inside and out.
Emily loved the outdoors, especially hot weather. She was one of only few that would take long, multiple-mile walks in the peak height of the Florida summertime… and enjoy it! She loved to walk, and was well-known to be seen everywhere around Two Harbors. When Hope-Eleanor was born, she was famous being seen pushing her stroller everywhere; then when her granddaughter grew older, they were seen walking hand-in-hand. They hold such a special bond between them.
Emily also loved working in the garden and yard, traveling, interior design, film, but her greatest love was her family and her friends. She truly is leaving a void in many hearts, as she was so kind and loving, and touched the lives of so many.
Emily is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; son, J.D. (Jessica) of Poplar, WI; daughter Anne (Ian) Bineham of Two Harbor;, and granddaughters Autumn, Tamara, Anna Grace, and Hope-Eleanor, along with extended family and countless friends and acquaintances.
Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, Emily’s Remembrance Service will be attended by her immediate family only. However, it will be recorded and available for viewing at cavallinfuneralhome.com.
Emily’s family wants to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support during this time of loss and grief. We also thank Dr. Shawn McMahon and the staff at Monarch Healthcare (especially Wendy and Jade), for the care they gave. Also, thank you to Alex at Cavallin Funeral Home for helping us through this difficult process.
“How lucky I am to have known someone who was so hard to say goodbye to.”
“Emily, we will love you forever and ever…and even then.”
