Elizabeth Vold, 96, Two Harbors, died Wednesday in the Sunrise Home.
She was born June 25, 1914 to Peter John and Anna (Yernberg) Olson in Two Harbors, where she was a life-long resident, graduating from high school in 1932. She married Daniel Vold on December 18, 1940 and worked as a seamstress from her home for over 60 years. Betty enjoyed time at the family cabin on Lax Lake, and was an avid walker, walking daily until this winter. She was a long-time member of the Women of the Moose.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daniel, a grandson Timothy, and brothers and sister, Iver, Ralph, Claus, Karl, and Harry Olson, and Kathryn Hedin. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Gary) Stowe of Livingston, Montana; sons, Myron (Carol) of Two Harbors and Roderick (Mary) of Blaine; grandchildren, Miriah (Ryan) Malone, Desiree Stowe, Tom (Danielle) Vold, Daniel Vold, Eric (Jessica) Vold, Charlene Vold, and Pamela (Will) Crain; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from Noon until the 1 PM service on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
