Eleanor C. Trewhella, 101, of Two Harbors, died Wednesday March 18, 2015 at Ecumen Scenic Shores in Two Harbors.

She was born February 16, 1914 to Hjalmer and Mary (Erickson) Carlson in Two Harbors, where she grew up and graduated from high school.  She married George Gran in 1939, and after his death, she married Robert Trewhella in 1979.  Eleanor worked as a clerk at the Scandinavian Cooperative, National T grocery store, and Lauralee department store.

Eleanor was a member of the United Church, the Eastern Star and the Women of The Moose. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed many homemaking skills including needlework, and knitting.  She was known as “Auntie Eleanor” to many of her friends’ children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband George Gran, second husband, Robert Trewhella in 2001, and a brother Oscar Carlson.

Eleanor is survived by her niece Claudia Hicks of Bloomington, many loving members of the Trewhella family, and her caregiver of 13 years, Theresa Salakka.

Services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday April 7, 2015, at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.  Burial will in Lakeview Cemetery.
