EILA S. NELSON
Eila Nelson, 85, Two Harbors, died Monday, October 4, 2010 at Lake View Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.
She was born March 26, 1925 in Frederick, South Dakota to Andrew and Alma (Palo) Ose. Eila grew up in Frederick and rural Duluth, and moved to Two Harbors as a young woman. She married Evert Nelson in 1942 and was employed at various jobs in Two Harbors, retiring as a teacher's aide from Lake Superior School District after 14 years of service. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Eila was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband a�"Evert.
She is survived by two daughters a�" Arlis Nelson of Phoenix, Arizona and Lori (John) Ellestad of Proctor; a sister a�" Emily Heikkinen of Faribault; six grandchildren a�" Amy Chaides, John Pappas, Allyson Wolfe, Curtis (Candy) Ellestad, Holly Ellestad and Wendy Ellestad; seven great-grandchildren a�" Matthew, Christopher, Christian, Julian, Elizabeth, Samantha, Ashley, Makayla, Daniel, Andrew, Nicholas, Zackary, and Jacob; special granddaughter Mikkaela Scott; and special friend Bud Kragseth and his family.
Services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
