Edwin Ziburski, 92, Two Harbors, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at home.
Ed was born January 12, 1923 to Charles and Martha (Begalke) Ziburski in Glidden, Wisconsin where he grew up and attended Shanagolden School. During World War II he served in the U. S. Army as a radio operator on New Caledonia Island for two years. He was employed by Reserve Mining for 28 years. Ed began in the Plant in Silver Bay before moving into the track maintenance department at the Jordan Crossing. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, horseshoes, bowling and Twins baseball.
He was a member and an Elder of Living Waters Fellowship in Two Harbors, a Bible study group, and the American Legion. Most importantly, Ed’s greatest joy was spending time with family.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ervin Ziburski; and a sister, Irene Doers.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth; daughter, Jean (Lyle) Hagenbeck of Moorhead; sons, David of Two Harbors, and Jim (Lori Schmidt) of Ely; four grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; an uncle, Eldore Begalke; and several nieces and nephews.
