Edwin Gudowicz Jr.

Edwin J. Gudowicz Jr., 69, Two Harbors, died Friday, July 22, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

Ed was born July 30, 1952 to Edwin and Julia (Wall) Gudowicz in Laona, Wisconsin and grew up in Armstong Creek.  He graduated high school from Armstong-Goodman School before attending UW-Steven’s Point, obtaining a degree in Forestry.  During high school, Ed spent his summers working in the wood mills for Louisiana Pacific and after college continued his employment there as a forester, first in Goodman, then Hayward, and in 1984 was transferred to Two Harbors.  Ed retired after working 42 years with LP.

Ed was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of Moose.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, and watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue; children, Scott Amundson, Erin (Todd Johnson), E.J. (Cassondra) and Collen (Rebecca Kalla); 5 grandchildren, Dana, Shelby (Jake), Zandar, Keegan, and Kyler; great-grandson, Gordon; siblings, Julia (Dale) Cross, Ray (Connie) Gudowicz, Mary Jane (Steve) Roell, and Jimmy Gudowicz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in Ed’s honor or donating to the Lake County Humane Society or the Two Harbors Food Shelf.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service on Friday August 19, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Two Harbors.  Lunch will follow at the American Legion.
