Edward Martin

Edward R. Martin, 58, of Two Harbors, died peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, June 12, 2011 at his home, after battling ALS for the last year.
He was born August 13, 1952 to Rodney and Shirley (Quigley) Martin in Duluth, where he grew up and graduated from Duluth East High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army National Guard. He married Sharon Valentine on August 3, 1974 in Duluth.
Ed worked for Sivertson's Fishery before working as a heavy equipment operator for the CN/DM&IR Railroad until retiring due to his illness. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and accumulating guns. Ed is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Two Harbors; mother, Shirley of Duluth; sons, Kyle (Tiffanie) of South Range, WI, Jerad (Amy) and Eric (Samantha) all of Two Harbors; brothers, Thomas (Jackie) of Georgia; and Richard (Jan) of Duluth; grandchildren, David, Mickel, Hallie, Kain, and Isaiah, great-granddaughter, Evelyn; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service Saturday June, 18, 2011 at Living Waters Fellowship in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
