Dorothy Peterson

Dorothy M. Peterson, 100, Knife River, died Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Diamond Willow, Lester Park.

She was born November 21, 1918 to Claude and Helen (Riley) Lusk in Knife River, where she was a lifelong resident. Dorothy was a homemaker through the years and in her later years worked at the Knife River Developmental Achievement Center for over 20 years, retiring in 1980.

Dorothy was a member of Knife River Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary and Merrymakers.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Trygve; brothers, Allen, Donald “Red” and Bruce Lusk; and sisters, Elsie, Helen, June, Nora, Marilyn.

She is survived by her twin daughters, Laura (Jim) Ortman of Two Harbors, and Lola Peterson of Two Harbors; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s daughters would like to thank the staff of Barross Cottages and Diamond Willow for the excellent care they provided to Dorothy.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Knife River Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
