Donna M. Stadler, 78, Silver Bay, died Friday, February 11, 2011 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth. She was born September 10, 1932 to Clifford and Evelyn (Wolfe) Duffney in Faribault, Minnesota, where she grew up, graduating from high school in 1950. Donna married Donald Stadler in 1954 and they moved to Beaver Bay, to Palisade Head in 1965, and to Silver Bay in 1996. She was a homemaker through the years and was employed at the Beaver Bay Post Office, Lake Superior School District in the kitchen, and Julie's True Value Hardware in Silver Bay, retiring in 1997. Donna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Anne's Circle, VFW Ladies Auxiliary - Post #6204, American Cancer Association, American Diabetes Association, and the Silver Bay Garden Club. Donna enjoyed embroidery work, fishing, and volunteering at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, and aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband Don of Silver Bay; daughters, Debra (Tim) Wold of Cameron, WI, Julie (Rob) Stromquist of Silver Bay, and Kathy (Jim) Marson of Minneapolis; sons, Steven (Nancy) of Champlin, Scott (Tracy) of Proctor, Greg (Karem) of Antioch, CA, and Nathan (Michelle) of Silver Bay; grandchildren, Aaron (Andrea Holden) Wold, David Wold, Jill Stromquist, Angie (Faron) Meeks, Cooper Marson, Lindsay (Jeremy Thompson) Stadler, Nicholas Stadler, Megan (Brian) VanPoucke, Amanda (Jon) VanArman, and Lucas and Jake Stadler; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Bryce Meeks, and many cousins. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Silver Bay. Private burial will be in Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be given to Solvay Hospice House and the Minnesota Veteran's Home.
