DIANE LINNEA COLDEN

Diane Colden, 68, Two Harbors, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in Lake View Memorial Hospital; joining her husband Vern who passed away in January of 2011.

She was born January 1, 1944 to John and Lucille (Furlund) Endres in Duluth. Diane graduated from Central High School in 1962.

She married Vernon Colden on September 27, 1965 and they had made their home in Two Harbors since 1972. Diane worked at various restaurants and also as manager of TLK in Two Harbors and later worked at Granite Gear. In 2006, she retired to care for her husband, Vern.

Diane was a Past Senior Regent, and active member of Women of the Moose of Two Harbors for 39 years, as well as an active 29 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She coordinated the Two Harbors Fare Share program and Two Harbors Halloween Carnival for many years as well.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vern; infant sister Charlene; and brother, Robert.

She is survived by her children, Michael of Tacoma, Washington, Theresa (Robert) Orso of Duluth and Anna (Bill) Walsberg of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Ricky Wiita, Ryan Orso, Katelyn Orso, and Joey Walsberg; siblings Barbara Haselow-Feller, Jacki Delvas, Michael (Deb) Endres, Karen (George) Saari, and Roger Endres; as well as her beloved cat, Pixel.

Diane was well known for being the Queen of random acts of kindness, a second mother to many, and her generous and giving personality. Once you met her, you were never a stranger for long, and she had the ability to leave warm fuzzy feelings after talking to her. It may be best said; "to know her was to love her," and she was deeply loved and will be missed by her family.

Visitation will be from 11 AM until the Noon service on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Reception will follow at The Moose Lodge.
