Delwyn Loomer

Delwyn Archie Loomer, 81, Silver Bay, died August 8, 2012 at his home at Lax Lake.

He was born on May 5, 1931 to Archie and Jo (Sha) Loomer in Fergus Falls, MN. Del grew up and attended rural schools in Fergus Falls. After graduating from 8th grade he worked numerous jobs before serving in the Navy during the Korean War. Del worked at Reserve Mining Company in Silver Bay before moving to Wyoming where he was employed as a millwright at an open pit mine. During his working years, Del went back to school and proudly earned his GED. After retiring, he and his wife moved back to Lax Lake during the summers and wintered in Baja South Mexico.

Del loved riding his motorcycles and sailing on Lax Lake with Mark Pemble, his best friend. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Del is survived by his wife of 31 wonderful years Lois; his son Dale "Tony" (Sue) Loomer; step-daughter Joanne (Brad) Ojard; two grandchildren; and 2 step-grandchildren; sister Leah Williamson; aunt Bernice Westerberg; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM memorial service on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay.
