Deloris Guzzo, 87, of Silver Bay, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Duluth.
She was born on October 2, 1925 to Bertram and Bertha (Grindhaim) Width in Duluth. Dee grew up in Duluth and graduated from Denfeld High School. She moved to Silver Bay in 1955 when her husband Tony went to work for Reserve Mining Company. Dee was a member of Sychar Lutheran Church and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading books, playing cards, dice games, spending winters in Las Vegas and travelling, watching sports, especially her children and grandchildren's sports and activities and watching the Minnesota Vikings. Most of all Dee enjoyed spending time with her family.
Deloris is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, Tony; and a brother, Len Width.
She is survived by her children, Craig (Karen), Mike (Mary), and Stacy (Mike) Allen; grandchildren, Ian, Andrew, Sheena and Taylor Guzzo, Kenzie (Jeremy) Hohman, Libby (Mike) Carman, Marina Allen, and great grandson, Easton Hohman; sister, Bernyce (Ellery) Stickle; sisters-in-law, Betty Width and Lou Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, August 23, 2013 at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Silver Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials being sent to Sychar Lutheran Church.
