Dawn “Danni” Wagner, 58, died suddenly, at her home in Hovland, Minnesota on Saturday February 29, 2020.
Dawn was born July 13, 1961 to Daniel and Margaret (Kissler) Wagner in Brighton, Colorado and grew up and attended school in the surrounding area. She found her life-long dream job as a police dispatcher working first in Coos Bay, Oregon, and later in Aurora, Colorado. After she and Steve “retired” in 2007 to their dream retirement home in the woods and on a lake in Northern Minnesota in 2007, Dawn returned to work as a dispatcher for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department.
She is survived by her husband, Steven J. Sopata; the children, Steven “JR” Sopata and Jennifer (Jerrod) Oliver; her parents, Daniel and Margaret Wagner; grandchildren, Steven Joseph and Skylan Danielle Sopata, and Kasia Oliver; and her brothers and sisters, Christopher, Renee, Bradley and Elizabeth.
Private services will be held at a later date.
