It is with much sorrow that we announce the death of our friend and father David Bergerson at the age of 97.
He was born in 1923 to Benjamin and Anna Marie Bergerson in Two Harbors, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by sons Paul and Phil, daughter-in law Beth, brothers Phillip, Grover, Arvid, Louis, and Kermit, and sisters Geraldine (Sis) and Marjorie. He is survived by wife Lillian, sons Gary (Karen) and Terry, daughter-in-law Judy, grandchildren Lauren and Michael, and great-grandsons Tim and Ben.
He graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1941 and later served under Gen. Patton as an infantryman in WWII. It was during transport to Le Havre for the assault on Japan when the train stopped, and it was announced that the war was over. He returned to Two Harbors after the war and remained there the remainder of his life. He retired from Husky Hydraulics in 1987 and enjoyed 34 years of retirement. He absolutely loved Two Harbors and spending time with family and friends at his cabin at Highland Lake. He believed taking two saunas a week was the fountain of youth.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no funeral. To share your memories or condolences online please visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
