Daniel W. Beck, 70, of Two Harbors, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
Dan was born October 16th 1947, to Frank and Elna (Elickson) Beck in Two Harbors, MN. He Grew up and attended school in Clover Valley and graduated in 1965. He proudly served in the Army as a Medic from 1966-1968. After his Military service, Dan went back to work for Reserve Mining, he also worked for LTV Steel and retired from North Shore Mining in Silver Bay, as a Maintenance Mechanic in 2009.
Dan enjoyed spending time at the hunting shack in Toimi, MN, where his family is deeply rooted. Dan also enjoyed four wheeling, fishing and watching his grandchildren compete in athletic sports. Dan enjoyed rooting for his Minnesota sports teams, especially the Vikings, Twins and Wild.
Dan was a member of the American Legion and Loyal Order of the Moose.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Elna Beck, His Brothers Robert Beck, Allen Beck, His Sisters Irene Beck and Mary Ann Nukala.
Dan is survived by his Daughter Debbie (Martin) Maher, His Son Eric (Jenny) Beck. Grandchildren, Haily Maher, Kendall and Wesley Beck. Brothers Peter (Catherine), Ken (Debby), Ted (Sue), Roger (Julie). Sisters Bernice (Loren) Souder, Kathy Oberg, a close friend Peggy Ollila, many nieces, nephews and special friends that meant a lot to him.
A Visitation will be held on January 3rd at Cavallin Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until the 1 PM Service. A Celebration of Dan’s life will occur following the service at the American Legion in Two Harbors, MN.
