Claire Thomas Judd died peacefully Saturday, July 14th at the Cook County Care Center.
He was born to Emma Mae and Thomas Jefferson Judd September 11th, 1918 in Mpls, Mn. He married Marian Rahn in 1941. Claire worked for D W Onan during WW 2. In 1954, he and Marian moved to Grand Marais, Mn. He made a career painting and staining homes in Cook County. Claire and Marian enjoyed spending time outdoors. They were avid canoeists and loved camping, fishing, and bird watching. Claire was also known for his beautiful wood carvings.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, wife, two sisters, and one brother.
He is survived by two nieces, Merlyn Sundgren and Virginia Mann and two nephews, Frank and Bill Rahn.
A funeral service will be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Grand Marais at 1pm Thursday July 19th. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery, Mpls 1pm Friday July 20th. Memorials preferred to Care Partners Hospice of Cook County. To sign the online guestbook please go to www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
