Charlotte Ann (Curry) Maciejewski, 72, of Lutsen, MN, formerly of Bloomington, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 16, at North Shore Hospital in Grand Marais, MN.

Born October 5, 1945, in Bloomington, IN., she was the daughter of Henry and Annabelle Curry.  Charlotte graduated from Indiana University in 1970, with a degree in social work.  She spent the rest of her life being an avid Hoosiers fan.  She married Gary Maciejewski in August 21, 1971.  She enjoyed the years she spent as a social worker in various schools in Indiana and Kansas.  In 1998, Gary and Charlotte moved to Minnesota and enjoyed the many years spent at their house on Tait Lake.  Charlotte was a very active member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Grand Marais, MN.  She loved the Packers, the outdoors, fishing, ice skating, cooking, and singing.  She had a special love for Spiritual Centering Group of ten years.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary, and her children, son Michael Maciejewski and his wife, Maria, of Aurora, CO, and his daughter, Sara; her daughter, Leslie Smith and her husband, James Kyle Smith, of Louisburg, KS.  Charlotte has two sisters, Myra (John) Burnham and Cheryl (Peter) Cook, both of Bloomington, IN.  She also had many nieces and “mostly nephews” according to Charlotte.  She will also be remembered by many close friends as the “Lady of the Light”.  Charlotte was well-known for lighting candles in recognition for any venture a family member or friend was currently experiencing.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 22, at 11AM at St. Johns Catholic Church in Grand Marais, MN.  The family would like to give a special thanks to everyone at the North Shore Hospital for all of their help and support.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the North Shore Hospital at https://northshorehealthcarefoundation.org/donate.php or the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/.

Say not in grief that ‘he is no more’ but live in thankfulness that he was.
