Charlene E. Rolando, 91, of Silver Bay, passed into the Lord’s hands on Monday May 16, 2022, at Global Point Senior Living in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
Charlene was born August 11, 1930 daughter of Charles and Irene (Christian) Pregl in Chicago, Illinois. As a child she moved to Ely, Minnesota where she graduated from Ely High School in 1948.
On August 30, 1950, Charlene married her high school sweetheart Charles Rolando. After living in Minneapolis for a brief time the young couple moved to Babbitt, MN and then to Silver Bay where they made their home. Charlene was a homemaker and also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
In retirement Charlene and Charles split their time between Minnesota and Florida.
Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking – always preparing large meals when company arrived. She also loved making clothing from scratch using sewing patterns.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles, sister Geraldine and grandson Trenton Thompson.
Charlene is survived by three children - son Randy (Jennifer) Rolando of Jacksonville, FL daughter Claudia Rolando (Jeff Buchman) of Minneapolis; and son Robert (Terry) Rolando of The Woodlands, TX. Four grandchildren Tyler (Kristi) Thompson of Silver Bay, Alisha (David) Broden of Jordan, MN, Robby Rolando of The Woodlands, TX, Natalie Rolando of The Woodlands, TX, granddaughter-in-law Kristie Thompson of Silver Bay and ten great-grandchildren Derek, Danika, Dain, Anna, Avry, Brooke, Brody, Taylor, Gavin, and Kaden.
Services will be held at the at the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay, Minnesota on Friday, June 17, 2022 with a visitation at 1 PM and a 2 PM funeral to follow.
Burial will be in Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery, Silver Bay Minnesota.
