Carol Johnson

Carol Johnson, 87, of Silver Bay died Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Silver Bay.
She was born on January 1, 1929 to Hobart and Agnes (Havnen) Austed in Two Harbors, where she grew up and graduated high school. Carol attended business school before her marriage to Robert E. Johnson on December 1, 1951. Afterward, she was employed as a secretary for the City of Silver Bay until her retirement in 1985. After retiring, they enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
Carol enjoyed knitting, crocheting, golf, Bingo, cards, and time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert in 2007.
Carol is survived by daughters Karen (Mitch) Hanson of Duluth, Nancy (William) Powell of San Diego, CA, and Roberta (Edward) Kolasa of Montrose, MN; grandchildren Cindy, Mike, Eddie Jr., Erin, Eric, and Robert; and great-grandchildren Will, Sophia, and Evan.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the 1 PM service on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
