Carol Gervais

Carol J. Gervais, 75 of Tofte, died unexpectedly Thursday December 5, 2013 at her home.
She was born September 22, 1938 to Clarence and Ida (Sundquist) Johnson in Grand Marais, where she grew up and graduated from Cook County High School in 1956. She married Ronald Gervais on December 2, 1956 at St. John's Catholic Church in Grand Marais. Carol managed and operated a beauty shop in Tofte for about 12 years. In 1969, she helped manage Lakeview Complete One Stop Service in Tofte for 11 years. Carol also worked as the head housekeeper at Lutsen Mountain for 17 years. Carol enjoyed splitting wood, was an avid bingo player, and was a State Mixed Curling Champion.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Carol is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Sr.; sons, Ronald Jr. (Joan) of Grand Marais; Terry of Tofte, and Michael of Fairbanks, Alaska; brother, Duane (Virginia) Johnson of Hovland; sister, Arlene (Carroll) Johnson of Hovland; grandchildren, Todd, Rachel, and Gina Gervais; great-grandson, Mason, and great-granddaughter Grace.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 PM Saturday December 14, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church in Grand Marais. Burial will be in Tofte Cemetery at later date.
