Bonnie Lou Kempffer, 81, Two Harbors, was reunited with the love of her life, “Babe”, on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Ecumen Scenic Shores. She passed comfortably with family at her side.
She was born November 14, 1937 to Frank and Pearl (Alberts) Frazer in Crosby, MN, and grew up and attended schools in Duluth. She married Floyd “Babe” Kempffer on February 7, 1958 and had made her home in Two Harbors since that time. Bonnie was a homemaker through the years and owned and operated Bonnie’s Clothes Bar from 1979-1994. She served as president of the Downtown Business Association for 2 years, and served on the City Rec Board, as well as an election judge for many years. Bonnie enjoyed playing bridge, reading, crocheting afghans, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Babe”; and a sister, Connie.
Bonnie will be greatly missed by a son, Craig of Cloquet; daughters, Kelly (Keith) Huseby of Finland; and Rhonda (Matthew) Davis of Westminster, CO; sisters, Joanne Stanfield of Crosby, MN; Mildred Frazer of Tarpon Springs, FL; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews she also loved dearly.
Bonnie’s family would like to thank the very caring staff of Ecumen Scenic Shores for enjoying the past six months with her. She was special to all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
