Bert Keller
January 31, 1920 — August 11, 2015
Bert C. Keller, 95, passed away on August 11, 2015 at Golden Oaks Advanced Assisted Living in Proctor.
He was born on January 31, 1920 in Two Harbors to Stephen and Selma Keller. Bert was a graduate of Two Harbors High School before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the South Pacific and North Pacific combat zones. He worked as a brakeman and conductor for the DM&IR railroad, retiring in 1980.
Bert was a past president of the local United Transportation Union, and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers; 5 sisters; wife, Harriet; and grandson, Jamie Olson.
Bert is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Keller and Sandra Tufto; son, Stephen (Ruth) Keller; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the 1 PM funeral service on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. Burial and military honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
