Arlene Evans, 94, of Two Harbors, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, after a brief stay at Waterview Shores.

Arlene was born March 14, 1927, to Herman and Alva (Pearson) Peterson in Two Harbors, where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from high school in 1946, and later that year married William Evans. She was a homemaker and sold Avon products for over 30 years.

Arlene enjoyed playing cards with “Chester’s Harem”, many casino trips, and her many girlfriends and neighbors. For many years she played Easter Bunny at the kindergartens, the nursing home, and the Develop Achievement Center. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and its Women’s Circles. Sewing club, and many years of bowling with her bowling team. She was an election judge for 60 plus years.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Alva Peterson (Pearson), her husband, William of 32 years; a daughter Deveny (Evans) Strecker; a son Robert; two brothers, Wilbur, and Richard (Dick) Peterson, two sisters, Lois Vontin, and Carol Houle; along with her long-time friend and companion, Chester Norlen.

She is survived by a daughter, Jolene (Tim) Hurd; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandsons.

Private family services will be held. A public Celebration of Life will be held on June 11th. 2022 at 1 pm at the American Legion in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
