Pat Chupurdia, 92, formerly of Silver Bay, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Aftenro Home in Duluth.
Pat was born on January 1, 1924 to Joseph and Helene (Dahl) Patterson in Huron, South Dakota. At an early age, she moved with her family to South St. Paul, where she attended South St. Paul High School. Pat married Eli Chupurdia in 1947. They moved to Silver Bay in 1955, where she worked as a secretary and purchasing agent for Reserve Mining Company. Pat and Eli enjoyed much of their leisure time at their cabin on White Pine Lake. She was active in the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Daughters of the American Revolution, and DAV. Pat was a member of United Protestant Church, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and reading.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eli; grandson, Samuel Tronnes; and siblings, Bertha Loss, and Clinton Patterson.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Maxine) Chupurdia, Maxine (Dave) Tronnes, and Vickie Chupurdia; siblings, Grace English, Zenas Patterson, and Jane (Geno) Galleano; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 PM until the 3 PM Service on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Ardyth Chupurdia to Shriners Hospital for Children – Twin Cities, 2025 East River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55414.
