Angela M. Harrington

Angela Marie Harrington (47) of Sandstone passed away on September 5, 2024, unexpectedly in her home due to medical issues.

Angela was born on August 8, 1977, to Otto and Bonnie (Puent) Harrington in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Angela spent her childhood in Two Harbors, graduating with the class of 1996. Angela was known for her big smile and even bigger heart. 

After graduating high school, she attended Pine Technical College where she studied Child Care and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed by Cambridge Nursing home until she chose to become a stay-at-home mom. 

In 2005, she met the love of her life, James Bartel SR through a roommate in Sandstone. Angela and Jim went onto have one child, Glen Matthew Bartel, the greatest accomplishment of her life. 

Angela was a full-time mother and partner to both Glen and Jim. Her hobbies included watching movies, playing online games, and spending time with friends and family.

Angela is predeceased by her grandparents Arthur and Marjory Puent, William and Muriel Johnson, her mother Bonnie Jean Harrington, and stepdaughter Karen Small. Angela is survived by her partner of 19 years James Bartel Sr., her 16-year-old son Glen Bartel, stepson James Bartel Jr., Father Otto Harrington, brother William (Sandy) Harrington, sister Michele Harrington, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

Services will be held on Saturday, September 21 at the Methven Funeral Home (114 5th St. Sandstone, MN) viewing at 10 AM followed by a memorial service at 11 AM. A celebration of life and luncheon will be held at her home immediately after the service.
