Drew Johnson, 31, of Silver Bay died Thursday, October 22, 2015 due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
He was born January 10, 1984 to Scott and Roxanne (Harris) Johnson in Duluth, and grew up in Silver Bay. After graduating from Kelly High School in 2002 he played two years of Junior Hockey, then attended the University of Minnesota- Crookston for two years.
After college, Drew worked in Duluth until he was injured in a construction accident which left him with partial use of his right hand. Drew never complained about this disability and his attitude was an inspiration to many. He returned to Silver Bay and was most recently employed by the City of Silver Bay.
An accomplished athlete, Drew enjoyed hockey, softball and golf. His favorite pastime was hunting agates.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Francis Johnson, and Lloyd Harris.
Drew is survived by his parents, Scott and Roxanne Johnson; a sister, Leah (John) Bowsher; a brother, Nic; a niece, Harper; a nephew, Isaac; his grandmother, Maxine Harris, several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday October 26, 2015 at the Silver Bay Arena. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
