Alli Harju, 85, of Two Harbors died on New Year’s Day of COVID at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation in Duluth.
She was born on August 16, 1935 to Eino and Hilja ( Leppala) Kuivasmaki in Finland. She immigrated to the United States with husband Erkki in 1956.
Alli enjoyed being a wife and mother. She loved baking her cardamom bread and other sweets. She was very proud when her recipe became a finalist in the Duluth News Tribune. Alli loved shooting her gun and cross-country skiing. She also loved running. One of her greatest pleasures in life were her little Boston Terriers that she would walk all over town, offering kids candy and a hug with one of the dogs.
Alli also enjoyed garage sales and trips to the casino with Harbor Mates.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; brother; husband, Erkki in 2000; and son, John in 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held when circumstances allow. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors.
