Alice L. Carlson, 92, Two Harbors, died Sunday June 16, 2013 at home.
She was born September 24, 1920 to Arthur and Fanny (Kaitfors) Mattson in Duluth, Minnesota. She grew up in French River and graduated from Clover Valley High School. Alice married Carl L. Carlson and they had made their home in Two Harbors since 1940. She was employed for a short time at Lake View Memorial Hospital and Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Two Harbors. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and VASA Lodge.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl in 1995, a son Dale in 2005, and brothers and sisters, Ernie, John, Lawrence, Lois, Gladys, and Florence.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Mata Carlson of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Linda Voigt of Sartell, Cheryl (Paul) Weatherford of Vancouver, WA, Amie Schwinghammer of Waite Park, and Todd (Rachael) Carlson of Lakeville; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Michael Weatherford, Ashlee and Jakob Schwinghammer, and Erin and Sarah Voigt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Community Partners or Peacemakers Quilting Group at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, June 19 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors, and will continue at 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Burial at Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
